Things you need to know about VBS:​​

• VBS is for rising Kindergarteners - rising 6th graders

• There is $40 NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE REGISTRATION/SUPPLY FEE per child to help offset supply costs

• Each child will need to bring a packed lunch to VBS each day

• Bring a towel each day because it's HOT, so we will play water games

• Wear shoes that are comfortable and can get wet

We LOVE our VBS program and all the ways that we pour into the many children of our surrounding community to help them grow in their faith and experience Jesus in the most amazing of ways.However, we also are aware that the way we do this ONE WEEK may not be suitable, enjoyed, or expected if they are not familiar with our environment or our team.  

 

Here are a few things you NEED TO KNOW BEFORE REGISTERING:

 

• Our VBS is ALL VOLUNTEER LED… MOST are Youth that are graciously giving many hours of their time to share in this week with your child.  They hope to get to know each of them, experience the rotations with them, and help them to have a great time.  Please be kind to them! 

• VBS IS LOUD!! VBS IS LOUD!!! We play the music LOUD - WE SING LOUDLY - WE YELL GLEEFULLY - WE CHEER AT THE TOP OF OUR LUNGS!  Kids connect to this and it works…. VBS is LOUD.  If your child doesn’t enjoy this portion of VBS, you are welcome to wait in the Coffee Area with them until after the opening music worship time OR we do have noise cancelling headphones available - (you must let us know in advance if this is needed)  

• VBS IS ROWDY - to the unknowing eye, this may appear purely like chaos - BUT it is pure JOY… and it is very controlled and organized! :)

• VBS IS VERY MESSY & CAN BE WET!!! - dress appropriately!  PLEASE, please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy or wet AND wear shoes that your child can run in! 

• GROUPS ARE DIVIDED BY AGE AS BEST AS WE CAN!  We try to navigate ALL of the special friend requests that come in as long as they fall within our age range goals.  PLEASE BE UNDERSTANDING.  Our groups must be grouped accordingly to keep the kids, our youth leaders, and our stations leaders safe, as well as the capacity of rooms in mind. 

• GOOD BEHAVIOR IS AN EXPECTATION.  As mentioned, our VBS is volunteer driven and with almost 300 children it is helpful for you to speak with your children about the need to be kind, respectful, and great listeners.  Kids are so busy doing VBS, rarely do we have an issue that we are unable to handle. If one does arise you will be contacted to pick up your child or asked to stay with your child if the behavior continues.  

• If your child has a true special need that requires a one on one buddy to help them acclimate and experience our VBS program - PLEASE make note of that on the registration form.  It is important to know this BEFORE VBS begins - letting us know afterward is much more difficult to provide the buddy your child may need.
